About Think Insights

Insight should lead somewhere.

We work close enough to understand the real problem, across enough disciplines to build the right answer, and transparently enough to leave capability behind.

The story

From understanding the work to building what comes next.

Nate Lockett founded Think Insights as an analytics and strategy consultancy. Years spent helping organizations understand data, improve reporting, and automate decisions revealed a larger need: clients often did not only need an answer. They needed a product, system, or technology partner capable of acting on it.

Think Insights has grown into a product and technology studio that combines product judgment, software engineering, data, AI, fractional leadership, and practical technology enablement under one accountable team.

The people

Different disciplines. One standard for the work.

The team grows around the problem while accountability stays clear.

Founder & Principal

Nate Lockett

Nate is the founder and principal of Think Insights and the founder of Think Mission, a multi-tenant nonprofit operating system he designed and built independently from the ground up.

Created to reduce administrative burden across fundraising, communications, programs, events, community engagement, and technical assistance, Think Mission has required Nate to work across the entire product lifecycle: translating operational problems into product strategy, designing user experiences, architecting data and security models, developing frontend and backend systems, integrating AI and automation, and managing testing, deployment, and continuous improvement.

That breadth allows him to connect business judgment with hands-on technical execution—seeing both what should be built and how to make it work in practice. Before growing Think Insights into a product and technology studio, Nate designed automation and decision-support systems at Best Buy and Wells Fargo. Today, he brings that combined experience to founders, experts, nonprofits, and growing organizations building useful products and stronger operating systems.

Billy Jones

Billy is an IT systems and software engineer who helps organizations design, secure, and operate the technology their teams depend on. His work spans IT operations, systems administration, technical support, network administration, cloud and hybrid identity, service management, software development, automation, and applied AI.

At Think Insights, Billy focuses on hands-on technology enablement—from Microsoft 365 and Teams administration, Azure and hybrid Active Directory, device deployment, endpoint and network configuration, vendor coordination, troubleshooting, and security assessment to documentation, training, and ongoing operational improvement.

He combines technical depth with a service-oriented approach, helping nonprofits, entrepreneurs, and growing organizations replace fragile setups and undocumented workarounds with dependable systems their people can understand, manage, and extend. Billy is also pursuing advanced study in software engineering and AI engineering, strengthening his ability to connect day-to-day IT operations with data, automation, and emerging technologies.

How we work

Close enough to understand. Experienced enough to ship.

The best technology work begins before the first line of code.

01

Find the signal

Understand the valuable idea, operational constraint, or customer need inside the noise.

02

Shape the system

Turn that signal into clear product direction, practical scope, and an accountable plan.

03

Build what works

Design, develop, test, and refine the smallest complete version that can create real value.

04

Leave capability

Document, train, and hand over a system your team can understand and continue improving.

Think clearly. Before we build.

Build deliberately. Around real use.

Leave capacity. Not dependency.
